This site is a work in progress and contains links to listen to my mixes hosted on various platforms.Sometimes I like to take people on an electronic journey or just get down to business and dance! My top genres to play are Drum & Bass, Trance & Psy Trance, Breaks, Hardcore & Happy Hardcore, Hard House, and Electro. Pretty much anything from 120 to 180 bpm!There are links below to my current mix series, as well as some vinyl mixes from my old “Face” series recorded back in the mid-2000s.

BioI was interested in mixing ever since my childhood in the late 80s when I heard what an older friend could do with his "tape to tape" decks, manipulating Acid House tracks and Holly Johnson! Then, in my early teenage years, my mate from school and I somehow got to play with some school disco belt-drive turntables (complete with a telephone handset to cue with!), and I had my first hands-on experience with the concepts of mixing vinyl. Around this time, I fully immersed myself in the underground rave music scene and began discovering all kinds of new music styles, such as early Hardcore & Happy Hardcore, as well as Jungle & Techno.I also discovered a great source of this music through underground demo scene productions, such as those released at "demo parties" for the Commodore Amiga and PC. Before MP3s were even a thing, I was collecting rave music modules for the Amiga, as well as playing around with music tracking software such as OctaMED and ProTracker to see how they were made and to create remixes or edits. Not long after I got a PC, I started experimenting with a copy of the very first release of Virtual DJ, which enabled me to keep practicing with MP3s and learn the concepts of digital mixing.Sometime after this, I became hooked on Drum and Bass and decided I wanted to mix vinyl. So, I saved up for a set of Vestax PDX D3s (MK2!) turntables—and around 2003, I finally had them! I began searching for all the independent record shops I could find (which were like discovering a gold mine when you found a good one!) and collecting records to play with, creating mixes, sharing them online, and DJing at every opportunity under the name "DJ Face." A few of these mixes were released on the internet at the time as the "Face" series, volumes 1–11.In the early 2010s, I took a break from mixing for over a decade. However, my current mix series, "The Kernow Electronic Mix Tape," now produced under the name “Kernow DJ Facez” (there are way too many "DJ Faces" on the internet now!), represents a renewed motivation to return and create mixes—now digitally—to share inspiring music. It has also been fun digging out some of my old hardware and making it useful again!
